Outdoor Furniture Care

Properly caring for your patio furniture will extend its life, enhance its beauty, as well as retain your warranty.
Complete patio furniture, outdoor furniture and garden furniture care information includes:

Wicker Outdoor Furniture

Our outdoor wicker patio furniture combines the classic look of wicker with the highest quality man-made SolWeave® outdoor wicker for superb durability. The resin fibers are highly resistant to mildew, fading, sagging, staining, tearing and cracking. Artisans weave the fibers by hand around fully welded, rustproof powder-coated aluminum frames, resulting in lightweight and corrosion-resistant furniture.

Use a dry, clean cloth to dust your furniture weekly and help maintain its luster. To clean furniture, spray off any dirt or debris with a hose and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Avoid letting water stand on the surface of your furniture and cushions. If exposed to harsh sunlight or the elements, wicker patio furniture will fade over time. We recommend that you protect your furniture and prolong its life with our patio furniture covers when not in use.

Aluminum Outdoor Furniture

CABANACOAST® handcrafts our metal furniture from rustproof aluminum with precision welds and reinforced stress points. The finishing touches are done by hand: fine grinding to ensure smooth joints and a triple application of a weather-resistant, UV-inhibiting coating that’s 10 times more durable than paint. Our powder-coated furniture is virtually maintenance-free.
We recommend that you wash your furniture periodically with a mild liquid soap such as car wash soap. Scuff marks on the frame can be removed with a very light abrasive — grade 0000 steel wool is recommended. If the frame is scratched down to the bare metal, we recommend sanding THE AFFECTED AREA ONLY with 400 grit sandpaper, then applying a matching colour top coat. Factory-matched touch-up paint may be available from your dealer. We recommend that you protect your furniture and prolong its life with our patio furniture covers when not in use.

Sol Teak Outdoor Furniture

CABANACOAST® SOL Teak® Outdoor Furniture is made from virgin MGP (Marine Grade Polymer) which is extruded under high pressure. The grain runs throughout the entire frame thickness and each joint is bolted together using stainless steel hardware. We recommend that you wash your furniture periodically with a mild liquid soap such as car wash soap. Scuff marks on the frame can be removed with a very light abrasive – a Scotch Brite pad is recommended. Please note that excessive force can mark the finish.
Although SOL Teak® looks and feels like natural teak, it is not. Avoid teak oil or other oil products which are used for sealing and protecting real wood as they may stain the finish. For resistant stains, apply a bleach and water wash diluted according to the package instructions for cleaning. Alcohol, citrus degreaser or mineral spirits are recommended to remove oil or grease stains. If stains are set in, several applications may be necessary.

Sling Outdoor Furniture

Our sling furniture features durable aluminum frames and Sunbrella® or Batyline® sling fabric. Sling furniture provides comfort without the need for cushions, making this collection very easy to care for. The sling fabric is also replaceable. For easy day-to-day maintenance of your Sunbrella® or Batyline® sling fabric, brush off loose dirt before it becomes embedded, wipe up spills as soon as they occur, and spot-clean fabric before stains set. Additional cleaning information may be found at Sunbrella® fabrics how to clean.
We recommend that you protect your furniture and prolong its life with our patio furniture covers when not in use.

Restaurant Outdoor Furniture

The maintenance of your restaurant patio furniture will vary depending on the material it is made of. Follow aluminum patio furniture care or wicker patio furniture care information accordingly.

Commercial Outdoor Furniture

The maintenance of your commercial patio furniture will vary depending on the material from which it is made. Follow aluminum patio furniture care, wicker patio furniture, stainless steel patio furniture, or Sol Teak® patio furniture care information accordingly.

Never submerge your furniture in a swimming pool as prolonged exposure to pool chlorine will severely damage the finish of the furniture and will cause corrosion of the aluminum inside the tubing.

Outdoor Fire Pits

A cover for your fire pit burner is recommended so it can be protected from rain and dirt. These tray covers are also a great way to add more surface area to your fire pit table when not in use. Outdoor protective covers are also recommended to cover your fire pit table. They are weather resistant and help protect from rain and snow. Cover your fire pit when not in use, but only after it has fully cooled.
Due to the nature of the fire glass, some cracking and breakage may occur during the first 4 times of use, we recommend starting with a low flame and gradually raising the heat level to allow the fire glass to heat gradually.

Outdoor Umbrellas

When operating the patio umbrellas be sure to carefully open and close the canopy, making sure there are no obstructions. Do not force umbrella to open or close as this could result in damage to the cords. Umbrellas should not be left open during high winds and should also remain closed when not at home.

Outdoor Furniture Covers

Covers can be washed with warm water (no more than 100°F), and mild natural soap. We do not recommend cleaning in washing machines.

Other Information:

The maintenance of your outdoor sectional, outdoor chaise lounge, outdoor lounge chairs, outdoor sofa, outdoor daybed, garden bench, outdoor bar stools, extendable patio tables, balcony furniture, or any patio chairs and patio tables, will vary depending on the material it is made of. Follow aluminum patio furniture care, wicker patio furniture, stainless steel patio furniture, or teak patio furniture care information accordingly.

Salt Water Care

Additional ongoing care is required to extend the life of any outdoor furniture with prolonged exposure to salt air, salt water spray and chlorides which are associated with coastal and cruise ship use and with prolonged exposure to high concentrations of humidity and chemicals which are associated with indoor pool use. To extend the life of your furniture, avoid direct contact with chlorine and salt water.

Outdoor Patio Furniture

Crush Outdoor strongly recommends weekly or bi-weekly cleaning of surface buildup using mild soap, water and a soft brush or cloth, and rinsing with water from a hose. Do not use abrasive cleaners. We also recommend covering your furniture with a high-quality protective cover when not in use.

Aluminum Outdoor Furniture

Crush Outdoor strongly recommends weekly or bi-weekly cleaning of surface buildup using mild soap and water and a soft brush or cloth and rinsing with water from a hose. Do not use abrasive cleaners. This will help to remove any concentrated salt or chemical deposits and will reduce the likelihood of blistering of paint, fading and oxidation which can lead to finish failure.
Crush Outdoor also strongly recommends quarterly waxing of powder coated aluminum furniture frames with a clear automobile wax or other protective coating to offer additional environmental protection. We also recommend covering your furniture with a high-quality protective cover when not in use.

Sol Teak Outdoor Furniture

We recommend that you wash your furniture periodically with a mild liquid soap such as car wash soap. Scuff marks on the frame can be removed with a very light abrasive – a Scotch Brite pad is recommended. No additional steps are needed for a salt water environment.

Outdoor Furniture Winter Maintenance

Patio furniture that will be stored outside or in other cold areas should be drained of any water to avoid ice damage in the tubing. We recommend covering our patio furniture if being left out through the winter. Covers for all of our furniture are available for purchase through your local dealer.
